Punjab Newsline, Tarn Taran-

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) received yet another major political boost in the Tarn Taran Assembly Constituency as several prominent families from the Shiromani Akali Dal joined AAP, expressing faith in the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and the party’s commitment to honest governance.

Encouraged by Varun Kumar, Market Committee Chairman, Raja Sansi, and Narinder Singh Nagi, a number of families including Satnam Singh, Manohar Lal, Preet Singh Happy, Sajan, Param Kumar, Rohit, Ashu, Prince, Taran, Amrik Singh, Joga Singh, Sajan, and Harpreet Singh announced their decision to join AAP, leaving the Akali Dal.

Similarly, inspired by AAP leader Jasbir Singh Sondh, several more families, Sahebdeep Singh, Gursher Singh, Germanjit Singh, Guljar Singh, Avtar Singh, Sharanjit Singh, Mohabbat Singh, Gurdeep Singh, Gursewak Singh, Manvir Singih, and Jabalpreet Singh, joined AAP, parting ways with the Akali Dal.

AAP Punjab Working President Amansher Singh Sherry Kalsi, State General Secretary Dr. S. S. Ahluwalia, Chairman Harchand Singh Barsat, and AAP leader Sur Singh warmly welcomed these families into the AAP fold.

Addressing the media, Sherry Kalsi reaffirmed that the Aam Aadmi Party is the true party of the common people. He said, “In AAP, no one needs favours or recommendations. Those who work sincerely for the people and their welfare earn recognition on merit. The doors of AAP are open to all who wish to serve Punjab selflessly.”

Dr. Ahluwalia and Harchand Singh Barsat congratulated the new members and described their decision to support AAP as a wise and timely one. They said the Akali Dal has long ceased to be a party of the ‘Panth’ and has reduced itself to a family enterprise of the Badals. “People of Punjab have repeatedly rejected them. They are now irrelevant in the political landscape of the state,” they added.

AAP leaders also strongly criticized the BJP government for abolishing the Senate of Panjab University, Chandigarh, calling it a direct attack on Punjab’s rights. Harchand Singh Barsat said, “This is yet another anti-Punjab decision by the BJP. What Punjab needs are leaders who fight for its interests without compromise, and Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has been doing exactly that for the past four years. Whether it is about Punjab’s water, pending funds, or constitutional rights, CM Mann has always stood firmly with Punjab.”

The joining of these families has significantly strengthened AAP’s candidate Harmeet Singh Sandhu ahead of Tarn Taran by-election, reflecting the growing public trust in the party’s transparent, people-centric politics.
