CM Mann Should Apologize and Express Regret in 328 Missing Swaroop Case: Pargat Singh

Pargat Singh states this is not a sacrilege issue but an internal matter of the Shiromani Committee.
Pargat takes a dig at the deteriorating law and order situation, saying the government's hollow claim of 'Operation Prahaar' will be exposed.

Punjab Newsline, Chandigarh-

Former Education Minister and MLA Pargat Singh stated that in the ongoing controversy over the disappearance of 328 swaroops of Sri Guru Granth Sahib from Gurdwara Baba Banda Singh Bahadur at Raja Sahib, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann should not only apologize to the people of Punjab but also express deep regret. He clarified that the issue of the missing swaroops is an internal matter of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC), not a case of sacrilege.

Pargat Singh said it is unfortunate that Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann issued a misleading statement claiming the recovery of 169 missing swaroops, forcing the government to make a U-turn on the matter. He added that the government does not take a U-turn every day on one issue or another—this is sheer hypocrisy.

During the Maghi Mela, CM Mann claimed that 169 out of the 328 missing swaroops from Raja Sahib had been recovered near Bunga, but there was no truth to it. CM Mann misled the people of Punjab with false statements. Later, the Punjab government had to take a U-turn, admitting that the swaroops were not found. The government and Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, who lied in this case, must apologize to the people of Punjab.

Taking a swipe at the Punjab government's newly launched 'Operation Prahaar,' Pargat Singh said this claim too will prove hollow. He noted that the government had earlier launched a war against drugs claiming to make Punjab drug-free. Despite a two-phase campaign, youth continue to die from drug abuse. In Jagrao near Kol, six members of one family fell victim to drugs. Why is the government silent on this issue and unable to respond?

To address the worsening law and order situation in Punjab, 'Operation Prahaar' has now been launched, with claims that gangsters will be eliminated. But the reality is that the Aam Aadmi Party government is itself providing shelter to gangsters in Punjab. The public will now be misled once again.
