In a major move to tackle the growing menace of Chitta drug abuse and increasing addiction among youth, the Himachal Pradesh government is set to implement strict new measures at the recruitment level for government jobs.
Addressing the press Himachal CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu stated that according to the new decision, all candidates selected for government posts will now have to undergo a mandatory anti-chitta drug test before their final appointment. Only those who clear the drug screening will be issued appointment letters.
The screening will be conducted after candidates successfully clear the recruitment examinations. The final selection will depend on the medical and drug test reports.
The state government aims to curb the rising drug problem at the grassroots level by ensuring that individuals entering public service are free from substance abuse.
