Punjab Vidhan Sabha’s Deputy Speaker and MLA from Garhshankar constituency, Jai Krishan Singh Rouri, today visited various villages and interacted with the people. During the visit, he addressed village-level gatherings and provided detailed information about the Punjab Government’s Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojana, along with other pro-people policies and ongoing development programmes. The villagers also extended a warm welcome to the Deputy Speaker.

On this occasion, Deputy Speaker said that under the visionary leadership of CM Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab Government is committed to the welfare of every section of society. Historic decisions taken in the fields of health, education, infrastructure and employment are bringing positive changes in the lives of common people. He said that the government’s primary objective is the overall development of villages and improvement in the standard of living of the people.

While elaborating on the ₹10 lakh cashless benefits of Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojana implemented by the Punjab Government, Deputy Speaker Rouri said that the scheme provides financial security to every family for the treatment of major illnesses. He added that under this scheme, free treatment facilities are available in government and empanelled private hospitals, ensuring that no one has to incur debt due to costly medical treatment.

The Deputy Speaker appealed to the people to get their health cards made and avail themselves of the full benefits of the scheme. He informed that the process of making health cards is very simple and that assistance is being provided to people through village-level camps. He also directed the officials to ensure that no eligible family is deprived of the benefits of the scheme. He said that maintaining direct contact with the people is the true strength of democracy.

Senior leaders, block- and village-level workers, panchayat representatives and a large number of villagers were present on the occasion. During the programme, discussions were also held on further accelerating development works in the coming period.
