The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Tuesday conducted searches at the office of the Greater Mohali Area Development Authority (GMADA) in Mohali, according to sources.
Sources said ED teams arrived at the GMADA office in three vehicles and began examining records and documents related to the case. Officials from the agency’s Jalandhar, Chandigarh and Delhi units are reportedly participating in the operation.
No official statement has been issued by the ED regarding the purpose or scope of the searches so far.
The agency is currently investigating an alleged ₹150-crore Change of Land Use (CLU) scam and fee-default case linked to several projects, including Suntec City in New Chandigarh. In connection with the probe, the ED had earlier conducted raids at the premises of two builders associated with the projects. Sources believe Tuesday’s action at the GMADA office is related to the same investigation.
The ED has reportedly been scrutinising GMADA-linked projects for the past four months. Earlier, on May 7, 2026, the agency carried out a search at Flat No. 906 in the Western Towers Society in Kharar, Mohali. During that operation, two bags allegedly filled with cash were thrown from the ninth floor of the building, resulting in ₹500 notes being scattered on the ground.
Reports at the time indicated that around ₹21 lakh in cash was recovered during the raid. The investigation into the alleged land-use and fee-related irregularities remains ongoing.
