A shocking incident was reported on Thursday morning in Badbar village near Dhanaula, where a younger brother allegedly ran over his elder brother with a tractor, killing him on the spot. The incident is believed to have stemmed from an ongoing dispute over money and a tree standing in their field.

The deceased has been identified as 50-year-old Manjinder Singh, son of Jeet Singh. The accused is his younger brother, 45-year-old Sukhwinder Singh. According to reports, the two had been arguing for the past four days over approximately ₹1 lakh and a tree in their agricultural land.

The victim’s wife, Paramjit Kaur, stated that her husband had left home in the morning to arrange a combine harvester for wheat harvesting. Shortly after he stepped out, Sukhwinder allegedly approached from behind and ran him over with a Swaraj tractor. She further alleged that the accused drove over Manjinder Singh four to five times.

Paramjit Kaur also claimed that when she rushed outside upon hearing the noise and tried to save her husband, the accused attempted to run the tractor over her as well. Manjinder Singh died on the spot due to the brutal attack.

The deceased is survived by his wife and their 26-year-old son, who currently lives abroad. Station House Officer Gurvinder Singh confirmed that a case has been registered and efforts are underway to arrest the accused, who is currently absconding.
