Union Minister praises Haryana for being the first state to implement the National Education Policy

Punjab Newsline, Chandigarh –

Haryana Education Minister Mahipal Dhanda met Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan in New Delhi today. During the meeting, Sh Dhanda informed him that Haryana has implemented the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 from the current academic session. Curriculum development is also being aligned accordingly. He said that while the Central Government had set a target for all states to implement NEP by 2030, Haryana has taken the lead by adopting it five years early, in 2025, setting an example for the rest of the country.

Minister Dhanda said that this achievement reflects the Haryana Government's strong commitment to educational reform, made possible through the dedicated efforts of the department's officials. Union Minister Sh Dharmendra Pradhan commended Haryana for becoming the first state in the country to implement the National Education Policy.

Dhanda also briefed the Union Minister on several of Haryana’s flagship programmes. He shared that students from government schools have shown outstanding performance in national-level entrance exams like JEE and NEET, with 72 students achieving success—an impressive milestone for public education in the state.
