Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini said that a team of officers will visit every village to complete the process of installing solar panels under the Pradhan Mantri Muft Bijli Yojana. He said that families with an annual income below Rs. 1.80 lakh will be provided with a 2 kW solar panel under this
scheme. Out of the total cost, Rs. 70,000 will be borne by the Central Government and the remaining by the State Government.
He stated that households with solar panels will have zero electricity bills. The government has set a target to install solar panels on one lakh houses this year, and so far, 26,000 families have benefited from the scheme. The Chief Minister was speaking at a ‘Dhanywadi Karyakaram’ organized in villages Gudhi, Jogi Majra, Bakali, and Niwarsi of Ladwa Assembly constituency on Wednesday.
Earlier, villagers welcomed Saini on his arrival. During the program, he listened to their problems and issued on-the-spot directions to officials for solutions. He announced Rs. 23.04 lakh for a clean
drinking water pipeline in Gudhi, Rs.70.44 lakh for Bakali, and Rs. 22 lakh for Jogi Majra. He also inaugurated a sports stadium built at a cost of Rs 2.73 crore in Dhanora Jatan.
The Chief Minister further announced Rs. 21 lakh each for development works in all villages and assured that the demand letters submitted by sarpanches would be forwarded to the concerned departments for necessary action. He added that since the formation of the government for the third time, funds worth Rs. 57 lakh for Gudhi, Rs.1.40 crore for Bakali, and Rs. 2.78 crore for Niwarsi have already been released for development works.
The Chief Minister further said that due to heavy rains in recent days, farmers’ crops were affected, and the government has directly transferred Rs. 1,334 crore as compensation to the affected farmers’ accounts.
