Focus on children’s primary education essential for nation’s bright future: Governor

Prof. Ashim Kumar Ghosh visits primary schools in Gurugram

Haryana Governor Prof. Ashim Kumar Ghosh said the stronger the foundation of children’s primary education, the brighter will be the future of the nation.

Prof. Ashim Kumar Ghosh said this while interacting with parents during his visit to Government Girls Sanskriti Model Primary Schools in Ghamroj-Alipur and Kanhai villages in Gurugram district on Thursday. He inspected both schools and held interactions with students, their parents and teachers. On this occasion, the Governor’s wife, Smt. Mitra Ghosh, was also present.

Prof. Ghosh said as Governor he is the Chancellor of universities in the state, but along with higher education, he pays special attention to primary education. He stressed that the facilities provided to children in primary schools must be improved. Teachers and parents have an important role in this task. During his dialogue with parents, he encouraged them to interact with teachers from time to time regarding their children’s education. He further said that parents should also give suggestions to improve the education system and school facilities, and that support should be sought from representatives of Panchayati Raj institutions and local bodies.

In the school premises, he also interacted with children about studies and sports activities. He inspected facilities such as mid-day meals, drinking water, and toilets. Students in both schools presented cultural programmes. He also discussed the syllabus with teachers and viewed the exhibition of models prepared by students.

At Government Girls Sanskriti Model Primary School, Kanhai, the Governor announced financial assistance of Rs 50,000 from his personal fund to encourage students who secured the first three positions in sports activities. At Ghamroj-Alipur village, he planted saplings and gave the message of environmental conservation.
