Former Minister Balbir Sidhu Initiates Road Repair Work at His Own Expense

The current govt has failed, and people are not being heard – Sidhu

If the Congress Party forms the government, all stalled development projects in the Mohali Assembly constituency will be resumed without delay

Punjab Newsline, Mohali-
Senior Congress leader and former Health Minister Balbir Singh Sidhu, today initiated repair work on the dilapidated link road connecting villages Sawara, Saidpur, Giddarpur, and Chadiala Sudan. Despite repeated pleas from residents, the Punjab government had failed to take action, forcing the people to seek Sidhu’s intervention.

Responding to their plight, Sidhu personally took the initiative and arranged tippers loaded with gravel at his own expense to begin repairs. Speaking to the media on the occasion, he launched a scathing attack on the Aam Aadmi Party government, terming the performance of the current MLA from the Mohali constituency as “zero.”

Sidhu stated that in the past four and a half years, no substantial development work has been carried out in the constituency. Village link roads are in a deplorable state, and residents’ concerns continue to fall on deaf ears. He recalled that during the Congress government, grants of around ₹50 lakh were given to each village, while under the present regime not even a single rupee has reached the villages in nearly four years.

He further assured the people that with Assembly elections only a few months away, once the Congress Party returns to power, all stalled development projects in the Mohali constituency will be resumed without delay. On this occasion, Panchayats of the surrounding villages expressed their gratitude and honored Mr. Sidhu for his efforts.
