Online auction from January 14 to February 11; residential, SCO, mixed land-use, hospital and hotel sites on offer
Punjab Newsline,Chandigarh :
In a major step towards planned urban development and expanding real estate opportunities, the Greater Mohali Area Development Authority (GMADA) will conduct its first mega online auction of 2026, offering 42 prime sites with a total estimated value of ₹5,460 crore. The auction will be held from January 14 to February 11, Punjab Housing and Urban Development Minister Hardeep Singh Mundian announced on Wednesday.
The auction will include a wide range of properties such as residential plots, Shop-cum-Offices (SCOs), mixed land-use sites, group housing plots, and land earmarked for hospitals and hotels. The initiative reflects the Bhagwant Mann Government’s focus on rationalising property prices, ensuring transparency, and promoting investor-friendly policies to enable wider participation by homebuyers, entrepreneurs, and institutional investors.
Addressing a press conference, Minister Mundian said the Punjab Government is committed to balanced and planned development across the state. He stated that the investor-friendly policies introduced under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann have generated strong interest in the real estate sector and provided fresh momentum to urban development activities.
The Minister noted that previous e-auctions conducted by development authorities under the Housing and Urban Development Department have received encouraging responses. Continuing this approach, GMADA has scheduled the first mega auction of 2026 to further strengthen confidence among investors and citizens.
He informed that, as per decisions taken in earlier Cabinet meetings, the reserve prices of properties offered in this auction have been rationalised. This step, he said, is aimed at making property ownership more accessible to people from all sections of society, whether for residential needs or for starting commercial ventures.
According to the Minister, the sites have been carefully selected to cater to diverse requirements and are located at prime urban locations with strong connectivity. These areas are well linked to the international airport, railway station, and major road networks, enhancing their residential and commercial value.
Emphasising transparency, Minister Mundian said the entire auction process will be conducted online with complete openness. Detailed information regarding eligibility, bidding process, payment schedules, and terms and conditions is available on the official auction portal puda.enivida.com. GMADA has also launched a dedicated email ID, invest.gmada@punjab.gov.in
, to address queries related to the auction.
The Minister expressed confidence that the auction would yield positive results, contribute to Punjab’s economic growth, and generate revenue that GMADA will utilise to further improve urban infrastructure and development standards. He added that Mohali continues to emerge as one of North India’s fastest-growing investment hubs, offering inclusive and transparent opportunities for sustainable urban growth.
