Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla and Lady Governor Janaki Shukla today filled their forms under the Special Summary Revision Campaign of the Electoral Roll during their visit to Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh.
As part of the programme, they interacted with Booth Level Officers (BLOs) and obtained detailed information regarding the ongoing electoral roll verification and revision process. The Governor appreciated the efforts of the election machinery in ensuring transparency, accuracy and inclusiveness in the voter registration system.
Speaking on the occasion, Shukla emphasized that voters are the strongest pillar of democracy, and the inclusion of every eligible citizen in the electoral roll is essential for strengthening democratic processes. He said that the right to vote empowers citizens to shape the future of the nation, and therefore, it is crucial that no eligible individual is left out of the voter list. He urged all eligible citizens, especially youth, women, newly eligible voters and those who have recently relocated to take full benefit of this special revision campaign and ensure that their names are duly registered.
