CM Bhagwant Mann, Arvind Kejriwal and Omar Abdullah Join the Devotional Gathering

A magnificent Nagar Kirtan dedicated to the 350th Martyrdom Anniversary of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji was ceremoniously flagged off today from the historic Gurdwara Chhathi Patshahi Sahib in Srinagar. Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, Aam Aadmi Party National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal, and Jammu & Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah graced the occasion and offered prayers for universal well-being.
As the Nagar Kirtan began its journey with the Khalsa’s traditional splendour, the atmosphere echoed with devotional hymns and the vibrant energy of the sangat. The procession will travel through Jammu, Pathankot, Dasuya, Hoshiarpur, Mahilpur, and Garhshankar before culminating at the holy city of Sri Anandpur Sahib on 22 November. Ambulances, digital museums, langar facilities, and all necessary arrangements have been made to ensure comfort for the accompanying devotees.

CM Mann and Arvind Kejriwal said that commemorating the supreme sacrifice of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji is a moment of immense pride and devotion for all. They emphasised that the teachings of the Ninth Guru—peace, humanity, brotherhood, and religious freedom—continue to inspire the world even today. The leaders added that being able to serve during this historic occasion is a blessing for the Punjab Government.

Four Nagar Kirtans to Converge in Anandpur Sahib on 22 November

Leaders shared that the commemorative events began on 25 October at Gurdwara Sis Ganj Sahib in Delhi. From 1 to 18 November, grand light-and-sound shows were organised across all districts of Punjab, along with Kirtan Darbars in various cities that attracted huge participation.

An extraordinary spiritual sight awaits this year as four Nagar Kirtans from different directions will converge at Sri Anandpur Sahib. The first began today from Srinagar, while the other three will start on 20 November from Takht Sri Damdama Sahib (Talwandi Sabo), Faridkot, and Gurdaspur.

From 23 to 25 November, large-scale programmes will be held at Sri Anandpur Sahib. A special “Chakk Nanki” tent city is being set up to accommodate thousands of pilgrims. The events will feature exhibitions highlighting the life of the Guru, a stunning drone show, an inter-faith conference, a special session of the Punjab Legislative Assembly on 24 November, and a state-level blood donation camp and plantation drive on 25 November.

Spiritual leaders from across the world have also been invited to join these historic celebrations. Several saints, ministers, MPs, and senior officials were present on the occasion.
