Punjab Newsline | Haryana
In Faridabad, several cases of students and school staff creating Reels and meme-based videos inside government schools have come to light. Following these incidents, the Education Department has taken the matter seriously and issued strict instructions.
The District Education Officer (DEO) has directed all government school heads to immediately stop the creation of any entertainment-related videos—such as Reels or memes—during school hours. The department believes such activities are negatively affecting studies, discipline, and the overall dignity of schools.
According to the order, if any school wants to create videos for educational, cultural, or awareness purposes, prior permission will be mandatory. These activities must also be conducted under the supervision of a teacher.
Officials have received complaints that students and staff were making and sharing such content from school premises, leading to disruption in classes and a decline in discipline. Additionally, the circulation of these videos on social media has raised concerns about privacy and security.
The department has warned that strict action will be taken against anyone who fails to follow the new guidelines.
