The Haryana Government has designated the Director General, Human Resources Department (who is to be appointed by Government) as the "Appointing Authority" for purposes of Section 2(a)(i) of the Haryana Group D Employee (Recruitment and Conditions of Service) Act, 2018, as amended by the Haryana Group D Employee (Recruitment and Conditions of Service) Amendment Act, 2020.
This means that the Director General will be responsible for making appointments to Group D posts in the state government. The "service" defined in Section 2(n) of the Act refers to a common cadre of Group D posts in the State. This means that all Group D posts in the state government will be part of the same service, and the Director General will be responsible for making appointments to all of these posts.
A notification to this effect has been issued by the Chief SecretarySanjeev Kaushal here today.
