Haryana's Minister of State for Sainik and Ardh Sainik Welfare, Dr. Abhe Singh Yadav, said that the state government has increased the amount of ex-gratia given to the families of Haryana's Armed Forces and Central Armed Police Forces personnel who sacrifice their lives in the line of duty, from Rs. 50 lakh to Rs. 1 crore.
He mentioned that these personnel include those from the Army, Navy, and Air Force who have been martyred while performing their duties during wars, operations, operational areas, militants/terrorists attacks, border skirmishes, United Nations peacekeeping forces.
Dr. Yadav expressed happiness that the demand he had raised in the Assembly during his previous tenure as a legislator is now being fulfilled while he is the Minister of the department. Dr Yadav said that he had raised the demand in the august House to increase the amount given to the families of martyrs from Rs 50 lakh to Rs. 1 crore.
He also mentioned that the ex-gratia amount was increased from Rs. 20 lakh to Rs. 50 lakh for casualties occurring in wars, IED blasts, and actions against militants/terrorists or border skirmishes on or after March 24, 2016.
