CM launches Statewide GST Bachat Utsav from Ladwa Market

Punjab Newsline, Chandigarh –

Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini said the recently implemented GST reforms by PM Narendra Modi will provide an annual benefit of about Rs. 4,000 crore to Haryana residents and will bring the biggest transformation in the economic development of both the state and the nation. These GST reforms will not only provide relief to traders but will also simplify the lives of common consumers. The important aspect is that citizens will now be able to bring home indigenous products at lower GST rates. These reforms will promote ease of doing business and bring transparency to trade activities.

Saini was interacting with shopkeepers and traders on Monday during a programme organized in the main market of Ladwa regarding the statewide Goods and Services Tax Bachat Utsav.

Earlier, Chief Minister garlanded the statue of Maharaja Agrasen at Ramkundi Chowk and extended greetings and best wishes to the people of the state on the occasion of Maharaja Agrasen Jayanti and Navratri, after which he inaugurated the GST Bachat Utsav. Thereafter, the Chief Minister passed through the Main Market and Sangam Market to reach Shaheed Madan Lal Dhingra Chowk, where he gave detailed information to shopkeepers and traders about the newly implemented GST rates by the government and appealed to people to bring home indigenous goods and products.

On this occasion, the Chief Minister also garlanded the statue of Shaheed Madan Lal Dhingra. Saini said to spread awareness about the benefits and importance of GST reforms among the general public and traders, a ‘GST Awareness Campaign’ has been launched. This campaign will run till October 15, 2025. For this, the Excise and Taxation Department is organizing camps under a detailed action plan. He said the first phase of the campaign will run from September 22 to 29. All public representatives will actively participate in this and will visit designated markets daily to inform shopkeepers and customers about the reforms.

The Chief Minister said office-bearers of trade associations and various market associations are also being involved in this campaign so that the trading community can directly benefit. Social media platforms are also being used to promote GST reforms. For this purpose, hashtags like GST Reforms, Ease of Doing, Swadeshi etc, are being used. He said the objective of this campaign is not only to disseminate information about tax reforms but also to encourage people to adopt goods made in India and promote the spirit of Swadeshi. The Chief Minister expressed confidence that through this campaign, not only will the trading community become aware, but the general public will also directly benefit from these reforms, and Haryana will become even stronger from a trade perspective.
