Deployment of 9,200 buses
Punjab Newsline, Chandigarh-
Haryana State Transport Department spokesperson said that a comprehensive travel plan has been prepared to ensure the smooth and successful conduct of the CET-2025 examination. The exam will be conducted on July 26 and 27, in which about 14 lakh candidates will appear in four shifts.
The spokesperson shared that around 1,500 examination centers have been set up across all 22 districts of Haryana and Chandigarh. The department will deploy approximately 9,200 roadways buses to assist in the safe and timely commute of candidates. These buses will operate from 24 depots and 13 sub-depots across the state.
The spokesperson said that each district administration has been assigned the responsibility of arranging shuttle bus services from main villages and towns to the exam centers, ensuring local-level convenience. Besides this, interchange points are being created for candidates who need to travel more than 100 kilometers, to make their transfers smooth.
Candidates are requested to visit the link (https://hartrans.gov.in/advance-booking-for-cet-2025/) and provide details about how they plan to travel—whether by personal vehicle, carpool, roadways bus, or private transport. This information will help the department in planning routes and allocating buses efficiently, spokesperson added.
The spokesperson further shared that, keeping in mind the Teej festival, around 1,000 buses will be kept in regular service to ensure that the general public does not face any inconvenience and public transport continues to run smoothly during the festivities.
The spokesperson said that all necessary steps are being taken to ensure candidates reach their exam centers safely and on time. All candidates are requested to fill out the travel form and make use of the services provided by the department to reach their centers without difficulty.
