Himachal Pradesh CM Sukhu on Saturday paid floral tribute to Dr B.R. Ambedkar at the statue located at Chaura Maidan in Shimla on the occasion of his death anniversary. On this occasion, he said that Bharat Ratna Dr Ambedkar was a visionary leader, a profound social reformer, and a strong advocate of democracy, who dedicated his entire life to promoting equality, justice, and the upliftment of marginalized communities.
CM Sukhu said that while drafting the Constitution, Dr Ambedkar made historic contributions to ensuring fundamental rights for every citizen. His ideas and principles strengthened the foundation of Indian democracy. Even today, his life continues to inspire the nation towards creating an inclusive and progressive society.
The event was attended by Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Anirudh Singh, PCC President Vinay Kumar, Deputy Mayor Uma Kaushal, Advocate General Anoop Rattan, former Speaker Gangu Ram Musafir, several councillors, Deputy Commissioner Anupam Kashyap, Superintendent of Police Sanjeev Gandhi, and other distinguished guests.
