India beat Afghanistan by 7 wickets in the semi-final; Aaron George’s century powers dominant win

India have once again underlined their dominance in junior cricket by securing a place in the Under-19 World Cup final for a record 10th time. The Indian team registered a convincing 7-wicket victory over Afghanistan in the semi-final and will now take on England in the title clash on February 6.

Batting first in the semi-final, Afghanistan struggled against a disciplined Indian bowling attack. Indian bowlers maintained tight lines and lengths, applying constant pressure that resulted in regular wickets. Unable to build meaningful partnerships, Afghanistan were eventually bowled out for a modest total within the allotted overs.

Chasing the target, India began on a positive note, with the openers providing a solid foundation. The batting display was anchored by Aaron George, who played a superb innings to score a magnificent century. George showed excellent composure and timing, combining patience with controlled aggression. He punished loose deliveries and ensured the required run rate never became an issue.

The Indian middle order supported him well, playing sensible cricket and keeping the chase steady. With wickets in hand and confidence high, India comfortably reached the target, sealing the match with seven wickets to spare.

This emphatic win has further boosted India’s confidence as they head into the final. The upcoming clash against England on February 6 promises to be an exciting contest, with both teams having enjoyed strong runs in the tournament. India will be aiming to continue their impressive Under-19 World Cup legacy and add another title to their rich history.
