An IndiGo aircraft met with a minor ground incident at Srinagar Airport on Friday morning when it came into contact with a Visual Docking Guidance System (VDGS) pole while being parked at Bay No. 6.
According to airport officials, IndiGo flight 6E 225 (VT-NOG), arriving from Navi Mumbai, was being positioned at its designated parking bay at around 9:02 AM when the aircraft made contact with the VDGS pole. Following the incident, all passengers and crew members were safely evacuated from the aircraft.
No injuries have been reported. Manual stairs were used to disembark passengers as a precautionary measure.
Authorities have been informed about the incident, and an investigation will be conducted as per standard procedures to determine the exact circumstances that led to the mishap. Officials stated that it would be premature to draw any conclusions before the inquiry is completed.
Despite the incident, flight operations at Srinagar Airport remain unaffected. Arrivals and departures are continuing as scheduled, with airport authorities emphasizing that passenger safety and smooth operations remain their top priorities.
