Advocate Jiya Lal Bhardwaj and Advocate Romesh Verma, were sworn as Judges of the High Court of Himachal Pradesh today. They had administered the oath of office by Chief Justice GS Sandhawalia in a simple, but impressive ceremony held in the High Court at Shimla.
The Judges of the High Court of H.P. i.e. Justice Vivek Singh Thakur, Justice Ajay Mohan Goyal, Justice Sandeep Sharma, Justice Jyotsana Rewal Dua, Justice Satyen Vaidya, Justice Sushil Kukreja, Justice Virender Singh, Justice Ranjan Sharma and Hon’ble Justice Rakesh Kainthla were also present on the occasion.
The Registrar General Bhupesh Sharma, conducted the proceedings. He read out the Warrant of appointment issued by the President of India, appointing Jiya Lal Bhardwaj, as Judge of the High Court of Himachal Pradesh and after words the Warrant of appointment issued by the President of India appointing Sh. Romesh Verma, as Judge of the High Court of Himachal Pradesh. Sh. Bhardwaj was born on 20th August 1969 and began his legal practice in 1994 in the chamber of Senior Advocate Arun Kumar Goel, who later served as a Judge of the Himachal Pradesh High Court. Romesh Verma was born on 7th May, 1974 and started his legal practice in 1999 under the guidance of his father Senior Advocate Ghanshyam Dass Verma. Both have been practicing before the Himachal Pradesh High Court for a long period and posses expertise across all branches of Law.

Sharma , Justice Rajiv Sharma, Justice Chander Bhushan Barowalia, Lokayukta, Himachal Pradesh, Relatives and family members of Justice Jiya Lal Bhardwaj and Justice Romesh Verma, Anup Rattan Advocate General, Lovneesh Kanwar Chairman, Bar Council of Himachal Pradesh, Hamender Singh Chandel, President Bar Association, H.P. High Court and Balram Sharma, Dy. Solicitor General of India and Worthy Registrars of High Court Registry, Bar Association and employees of High Court Registry were also present on the occasion.
