Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convener Arvind Kejriwal has welcomed Sonam Wangchuk's decision to end his hunger strike, saying that Wangchuk's life and health are of immense importance to the country. Kejriwal also urged people to participate in the nationwide protests announced by the CJP.
Launching a sharp attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the alleged paper leak cases, Kejriwal shared a video on X and questioned the Centre's announcement of setting up fast-track courts for paper leak cases.
He described the Prime Minister's late-night announcement as "hollow" and accused the Modi government of lacking genuine intent to tackle the issue. According to Kejriwal, if investigations fail to present evidence in court, establishing fast-track courts would serve little purpose.
Referring to the 2024 NEET paper leak case, Kejriwal alleged that the CBI had declared the alleged mastermind innocent in court, raising questions over the credibility of the investigation. He asked why the government was promising fast-track courts if key accused were being cleared due to lack of evidence.
Kejriwal said the proposed law on fast-track courts for paper leak cases is expected to be introduced in Parliament on Monday, but maintained that the government's assurances would remain meaningless unless investigations are conducted effectively and evidence is properly presented before the courts.
