The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Tuesday carried out extensive searches across multiple locations in Punjab and Haryana in connection with three terror–gangster network cases linked to Pakistan-based operative Shahzad Bhatti.
According to officials, NIA teams conducted coordinated raids at 18 locations spread across nine districts in both states. The searches were aimed at gathering crucial evidence and identifying individuals involved in the alleged cross-border terror conspiracy.
During the operation, investigators questioned several suspects and associates and seized multiple digital devices and documents. The agency is also examining data related to communication patterns, financial transactions, and other activities of individuals under its radar in these cases.
All seized materials have been sent for forensic and technical examination to uncover the broader network and possible cross-border links behind the alleged conspiracy.
The ongoing investigation is focused on dismantling the terror–gangster nexus allegedly being operated by Shahzad Bhatti (Shahzad Bhatti), and identifying his associates and other individuals involved in the network.
As part of the probe, some individuals have also been issued notices to join further questioning, as the agency continues to expand its investigation into the wider conspiracy.
