A 55-year-old man was found dead at his residence in Saraswati Enclave in Ladian Kalan village, Ludhiana, with police suspecting murder. The deceased, identified as Rajinder alias Ramesh Kumar, was found lying on a bed with injury marks on his face.

According to the complaint, Rajinder’s brother, Jiuna, visited his house on October 22 to check on him. When he found the main gate locked and received no response despite repeated knocks, he climbed over the boundary wall and entered the house, where he discovered his brother’s body.

The body was emitting a foul smell, indicating that the death may have occurred some time earlier.

Police suspect the possible involvement of Rajinder’s live-in partner, Gurmeet Kaur, with whom he had reportedly been living for around seven years. The two had allegedly been having disputes for nearly a year and were living separately.

Gurmeet, a native of Ferozepur, has a son, Arshdeep, who lives abroad.

Based on Jiuna’s complaint, police have registered a case on suspicion of murder at Haibowal police station and initiated an investigation. The circumstances surrounding the death and the suspected role of the live-in partner are being examined.
