Khadoor Sahib MP Amritpal Singh will once again be presented before the Ajnala court today through video conferencing after the expiry of his two-day police remand.
According to Advocate Karamveer Singh, who is handling the legal proceedings in the case, Amritpal Singh’s earlier police remand has now ended, prompting his fresh production before the court.
Notably, a special team of Punjab Police had reached Dibrugarh Central Jail in Assam on April 21, where Amritpal Singh was detained under the National Security Act (NSA). His detention under NSA ended on April 22.
Following the end of the NSA period, police have intensified action in an older criminal case against him. His lawyer, Advocate Rituraj Singh, confirmed that while the NSA detention has concluded, legal proceedings continue under FIR No. 39.
The FIR includes serious charges under Section 307 and other provisions. According to the legal team, several associates linked to the case have already been produced before the court earlier.
