Started from Bathinda, the nagar kirtan travelled through Barnala-Sangrur-Patiala-Mohali-Rupnagar district; culminates at Sri Anandpur Sahib*

A grand Nagar Kirtan dedicated to the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, which began from Talwandi Sabo, concluded at Sri Anandpur Sahib.

On its arrival at Sri Anandpur Sahib, Cabinet Minister Harjot Singh Bains, Cabinet Minister Tarunpreet Singh Sond and Member of Parliament Malwinder Singh Kang along with the Sangat gave floral welcome to the Nagar Kirtan.

The Rupnagar district administration along with the Sangat offered warm and heartfelt welcome to the Nagar Kirtan, carrying beautifully decorated palanquin of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, and led by the Panj Piaras and Nishan Sahib on its arrival in Sri Anandpur Sahib, the birthplace of the Khalsa. Bains honored the five Panj Piara Sahibans and five Nishanchis with Siropas.

After the Nagar Kirtan reached near Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib, Cabinet Ministers Harjot Singh Bains, Tarunpreet Singh Sond and MP Malwinder Singh Kang respectfully placed the revered Guru Granth Sahib Ji at Gurdwara Sri Sis Ganj Sahib.

The Nagar Kirtan travelling from Talwandi Sabo to Sri Anandpur Sahib received wholehearted support from various religious groups, including Bhai Gurpreet Singh led jatha of Bhai Ranjit Singh Dhadrianwale and a large number of Nihang Singhs from Shiromani Panth Akali Budha Dal (Pajwan Takht) of Jathedar Baba Balbir Singh and other groups and religious institutions.

It is pertinent to mention here that this grand Nagar Kirtan with the support of the entire Sikh community and Punjab Government, starting on November 20 from Gurdwara Sri Ber Sahib (Degsar), Patshahi Dasvi Chhavni Budha Dal Panjwan Takht at Takht Sri Damdama Sahib, Talwandi Sabo. During this journey, the event featured sermons on martyrdom, devotional kirtan, the beats of drum, Gatka martial arts displays and historical presentations shown on LED vans — remained the major attractions for the devotees.

The devotees across the districts of Bathinda, Barnala, Sangrur, Patiala, Mohali and Rupnagar welcomed the Nagar Kirtan with jubilant cheers and slogans, while armed police contingents presented a ceremonial Guard of Honour to Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji.
