Sports activities are being organized in villages by policemen and ex-servicemen, people are being motivated to stay away from drugs.
The Director General of Police reviewed the work being done in this direction with senior police officers of the state.
Issues related to road safety, preventing incidents of vehicle theft, banning DJ playing late at night and stopping illegal use of sirens and red lights were also discussed.

A historic initiative has been started by Haryana Police to keep the youth in the state away from drugs and to make them physically fit. Under this, policemen, players and ex-servicemen in the districts across the state are motivating village youth to participate in sports activities so that their energy can be channelized in the right direction.
This information was given during the meeting held under the chairmanship of Director General of Police Shatrujit Kapoor. Senior police officers and superintendents of police from across the state participated in this meeting. In the meeting, apart from the work done by the Superintendents of Police regarding drug de-addiction in their districts, reports were presented regarding sports activities. In the meeting, Shri Kapoor reviewed in detail the sports activities with the Superintendents of Police of Hisar, Bhiwani, Dadri, Sirsa, Dabwali, Narnaul, Rewari, Nuh, Palwal, Jhajjar, Sonipat, Panipat, Karnal and Kurukshetra.
Dgp Kapoor said that youth is the future of the country, hence it is important that their energy be channelized in the right direction. He said that through sports, the youth of the state are also being linked to the de-addiction campaign so that they themselves stay away from drugs and inspire other people too. He said that in this work, village and ward guards have also been doing commendable work for the last several months by preparing records of the accused who sell and buy drugs in the village and ward.
It was told in the meeting that awareness is being created through sports activities in many districts of the state to motivate the youth and children to stay away from drugs. Through this initiative, retired SPOs working in the police, who are below 50 years of age and have served in sports in the Army and Paramilitary, have been appointed in the villages. It was also told that under this initiative, by cleaning the sports complexes which are not being used, the players of the department are encouraging more and more youth to come to the stadium in the morning and evening. A team of such players is being prepared so that they can ensure their participation in district level and state level competitions.
Discussions were also held on road safety, preventing incidents of vehicle theft, running DJs late at night and installing illegal sirens and red lights.
It was told in the meeting that data of hospitals and ambulances etc. is being uploaded on the mobile app regarding road safety. Good hospitals and ambulances are being empaneled so that the person can be treated during the golden hour and the life of the person can be saved. Along with this, it was told in the meeting that necessary steps are being taken towards improving the black spots by conducting road safety audit in the state.
It was also informed in the meeting that necessary steps have been taken regarding speed limit of vehicles in the state and work is being done to implement them area wise in the districts. Along with this, challans are also issued to people who use sirens and red lights in an unauthorized manner across the state.
In the meeting, Police Commissioner Gurugram Vikas Arora said that in order to prevent incidents of vehicle theft, while holding a meeting with the vehicle manufacturing companies, they have been asked to make the locking system of motorcycles effective. Soon a meeting will be held with representatives of vehicle manufacturing companies to strengthen the locking system of vehicles.
Apart from this, it was told in the meeting that regular action is being taken against those who play DJ etc. till late night. Cases are being registered regarding this by running a campaign in urban and rural areas.
Senior police officers, IGs and Superintendents of Police of the state participated in the meeting.
