Paddy Commission increased by 20 percent, Benefiting Arthiyas

CM makes major announcements for Arthiyas

Punjab Newsline, Chandigarh, August 6 -

CM Singh Saini while making a series of pivotal announcements for Arthiyas here today said that the Arthiyas will get an increase of 20 percent for paddy, which means that commission amount has been increased from Rs. 45.88 to Rs. 55.00 per quintal, which is maximum in any state. He said that the government would compensate for the losses incurred by Arthiyas due to wheat shortages. For this, he announced compensation of approximately Rs. 12 crore.

The Chief Minister made these announcements while addressing a meeting with members of the representatives of Haryana State Grain Market Arthiya Association and Haryana Rice Millers and Dealers Association at Sant Kabir Kutir. The meeting was attended by the Minister of State for Transport, Sh. Asim Goyal and Minister of State for Urban Local Bodies, Sh. Subhash Sudha.

During the meeting, the issue of wheat shortages was raised by the Arthiyas. They apprised the Chief Minister that since 1966, no government has ever compensated for this shortage, which averages around 0.20 percent every year.
