In a significant step towards ensuring planned and sustainable urban development in Punjab, the Punjab Regional and Town Planning and Development (PRTPD) Board on Tuesday approved several key Master Plans during a high-level meeting held at Punjab Bhawan. The meeting was chaired by Punjab Housing and Urban Development Minister S. These approvals are expected to pave the way for systematic and well-planned development of the concerned regions. The approved Master Plans will facilitate the creation of new industrial hubs, residential townships and commercial zones, thereby attracting fresh investments. The initiative is also aimed at generating employment opportunities and improving civic amenities for residents.
Apart from the Master Plans, the Board also approved key proposals related to amendments in various existing Master Plans and Unified Zoning Regulations. Special emphasis was laid on regulations concerning the no-construction zones along scheduled roads.
