Drinking water supply project for district Nuh likely to commission by June 15

The Haryana Public Health Engineering Minister Banwari Lal directed the officers to ensure that all sewer lines and storm water drains in the State are cleaned up before the onset of the rainy season so as to avoid problems of sewer blockage and water contamination. Besides, to avert the possible threat of water borne disease during the rainy season due to mixing of sewage with fresh water sources, the problem of leakage in drinking water pipelines be resolved on priority.
Banwari Lal gave this and several other directions while presiding over the review meeting of the Department here today. He directed that clean drinking water should be supplied by using a gaseous chlorination system.
Prepare a schedule for cleaning of all the water storage tanks
While reviewing the condition of storage tanks, the Minister directed that storage tanks at all canal-based water works must be filled up during the running period of the canal. Emphasizing the need of regular cleaning of water tanks so that capacity of water tanks may not reduce due to accumulation of filth, he directed to prepare a schedule for cleaning of all the water storage tanks at a regular interval.
165 machines for mechanical cleaning of sewers
He was informed that currently 165 machines are available with the Department for mechanical cleaning of sewers. These included 6 super sucker machines of 10,000 liters capacity, 41 high pressure jetting-cum-suction type hydraulically operated sewer cleaning machines of 10,000 liters capacity, 4 robotic grab machines, 96 bucket type machines and 18 hydraulic grab machines.
Drinking water supply project likely to commission by June 15
It was informed in the meeting that the ambitious drinking water project to provide an adequate and clean drinking water facility to the people of district Nuh is likely to be commissioned by June 15, 2024. After the commissioning of this project, there will be no shortage of drinking water in 52 villages of Nagina block of the district.
Persistent efforts have been made to ensure drinking water supply right upto the villages at the tail end
Dr Banwari Lal said that persistent efforts have been made to ensure that there is no shortage of drinking water in any part of the State and water reaches right upto the villages at the tail end. To meet the drinking water needs of the people of 52 villages of Nagina block of district Nuh, a Rainey well and tubewell based drinking water project has been approved and implemented.
