Haryana Cabinet Minister Anil Vij narrowly escaped injury after his vehicle was involved in a road accident in Ambala on Sunday. According to information, a black-coloured car suddenly entered the minister’s convoy and rammed directly into his vehicle, causing panic for a brief period in the area.
Immediately after the incident, commandos deployed in Minister Anil Vij’s security sprang into action and apprehended the driver of the black car at the spot. During preliminary questioning, it was revealed that the driver is an employee of the Haryana Police Special Task Force (STF), which further heightened the seriousness of the incident.
Eyewitnesses said the accident occurred when the minister’s convoy was passing through Ambala. A black car reportedly approached at high speed, breached the security cordon and crashed into the convoy. The collision was so sudden that security personnel took some time to fully assess and control the situation. Fortunately, Minister Anil Vij was not injured in the mishap.
Sources said that Minister Anil Vij has been officially provided a Volvo S90 vehicle. However, it is yet to be confirmed which vehicle he was travelling in at the time of the accident. Following the incident, the minister was safely escorted to a secure location, while security agencies ensured that the situation at the site was brought under control.
In connection with the incident, the Padav police station has registered a case against the driver of the black car based on a complaint. The police have launched an investigation to ascertain how and why the driver entered the minister’s convoy and whether the accident was caused due to negligence or any other reason.
Police officials stated that the matter is being investigated thoroughly and all angles are being examined. There is also a possibility that the minister’s security arrangements will be reviewed in light of the incident to prevent such occurrences in the future.
