In a major action in the case of embezzlement and sacrilege of 328 holy copies of Sri Guru Granth Sahib in Amritsar, Punjab, the Punjab Police has arrested Satinder Singh Kohli, former internal auditor of SGPC and close aide of Sukhbir Badal.This matter came into discussion in 2020 when the investigation committee formed by Akal Takht caught Kohli's negligence.
The police recently registered a case and CM Bhagwant Mann issued a statement on the matter and also raised question on Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC).
According to Amritsar Police, a case has been registered against Kohli along with 16 other individuals in connection with the matter. The arrest marks a significant step in the ongoing investigation into the handling and accountability of the sacred Saroops.
