In a tragic bus accident in Fatehgarh Sahib, nine people lost their lives while 34 others sustained injuries. Following the incident, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has announced financial compensation for the victims and their families.
The state government has approved an ex-gratia of ₹2 lakh each for the families of the deceased. Additionally, ₹50,000 will be provided to each of the 34 injured individuals.
The Chief Minister made the announcement through a social media post and assured that the government stands firmly with the affected families, promising all possible assistance during this difficult time.
The accident occurred last week near village Main Majri, close to Bassi Pathana in the Fatehgarh Sahib district. Authorities have intensified the investigation to determine the cause of the accident and to implement measures to prevent such incidents in the future.
