Punjab CM to inaugurate Bahra Hospital on Nov 19

MOHALI: A 350-bedded Bahra super specialty hospital is being started by the Rayat Bahra Group. The Bahra Super Specialty Hospital, located on the Chandigarh-Ropar highway, 10 km from Chandigarh, would be formally inaugurated by Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi on November 19. The Chief Minister would be accompanied by OP Soni, Deputy Chief Minister.

Disclosing this to media persons, Gurvinder Singh Bahra, Chairman of the Rayat Bahra group and promoter of the Hospital, said that the Group had a carved a niche for itself in the field of education with two universities and three campuses and hospitality, and was now venturing into the healthcare sector.

Bahra said that the idea behind setting up the super specialty hospital equipped with cutting edge technology was to provide world class healthcare facilities to the people of the region. At this well-equipped hospital all types of medical and surgical emergencies would be handled by qualified and competent doctors. He said that in the first phase the hospital would have 100 beds.

The Hospital is located on the main highway, with 2,50,000 sq. feet of constructed area on 12 acres of land. The hospital would have round the clock services in radiology, pathology, pharmacy, ambulance, and cafeteria. A Blood Bank would also start functioning in the hospital shortly in the first phase itself.

This state-of-the-art multi super specialty hospital would offer services in the core specialties and in the first phase these would include anaesthesiology, Critical and Intensive care, cardiology, orthopaedic and joint replacement, medical oncology, neurosurgery and spine surgery, obstetrics and gynaecology, nephrology and dialysis, paediatrics & NICU, dentistry, emergency medicine, endocrinology, pulmonology, general and laparoscopic surgery, gastroenterology, general medicine, ENT, ophthalmology, physiotherapy, psychiatry, clinical nutrition and dietetics.

Bahra said that each of these departments will have highly experienced and skilled doctors educated and trained at the foremost medical institutions. The nursing services and the patient-care providers are specially trained to provide compassionate care round-the-clock.

He said that all other super specialties would be added in the second phase.
