The Punjab government has transferred officers on a large scale in the local bodies department. These transfers have been done after the Lok Sabha elections 2024. Along with this, it is also being speculated that the government is making this reshuffle regarding the municipal elections and panchayat elections. Municipal elections are pending in the state for about two years. Landscape Officer Yadvinder Singh posted in Amritsar Municipal Corporation has been given the responsibility of additional charge of Jalandhar Municipal Corporation. Similarly, JE Sukhwinder Singh has been posted in Amritsar Municipal Corporation. Apart from this, about 44 officers have been deployed in various districts and sent to Nagar Sudhar Trust and Municipal Corporations.
