Punjab Government Withdraws Security of AAP MP Raghav Chadha

Punjab Newsline | Chandigarh

The Punjab government has withdrawn the security cover of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha. Recently, the party made a major organizational reshuffle and removed Chadha from the post of Deputy Leader in the Rajya Sabha, assigning the responsibility to Dr. Ashok Mittal. According to resources, now his security has also been revoked.

During this period, AAP claimed that the central government was planning to provide security to Raghav Chadha. AAP leader Saurabh Bharadwaj had earlier stated in a social media post that the Centre would grant him security cover. However, close aides of Chadha have dismissed this claim as false.

Raghav Chadha was earlier provided Z+ category security by the Punjab Police, which has now been withdrawn. The move comes amid reports of growing differences between Chadha and the Aam Aadmi Party. According to sources, Punjab Police personnel deployed in his security have been asked to report back to headquarters immediately.
