In a significant intelligence-driven operation coordinated between Punjab Police, central agencies and the Royal Malaysia Police two wanted operatives linked to the banned Khalistan Zindabad Force were successfully deported from Malaysia and apprehended upon arrival in India.

The accused, Gurwinder Singh of Ambala and Manjeet Singh of Patiala, were arrested by Punjab Police at Indira Gandhi International Airport after landing in New Delhi and subsequently taken to Punjab for further investigation.

According to officials, both accused were key Malaysia-based operatives of a KZF-backed terror module involved in targeting critical railway infrastructure, including Dedicated Freight Corridor lines in Punjab.

Earlier, Punjab Police had busted the same terror module responsible for an IED blast on the Railway Freight Corridor near Sirhind in Fatehgarh Sahib on January 23, 2026, as well as an attempted explosion near Shambhu in Patiala district on April 27, 2026. During that operation, four accused were arrested and a large cache of weapons and explosives was recovered, including an RPG launcher, IEDs, RDX, hand grenades, and sophisticated pistols with ammunition.

Subsequent investigations revealed a transnational conspiracy involving handlers and financial facilitators based in Malaysia. The deported individuals were allegedly responsible for channeling terror funds through offshore networks to support KZF operatives in Punjab and facilitate planned attacks aimed at disturbing peace and public order.

Both accused were produced before a competent court in Patiala on June 18, 2026, and have been remanded to police custody for further interrogation. Authorities stated that investigations are ongoing to dismantle the wider network and identify all associates involved.

Punjab Police reaffirmed its commitment to dismantling terror ecosystems, disrupting terror financing networks, and ensuring peace, security, and harmony across the state.
