A strong message of unity against drug abuse was witnessed in Bathinda, Punjab, as around 20,000 youth and athletes participated in Youth Run Punjab 2026, raising their voice against drugs. According to Aam Aadmi Party Punjab, the main objective of the event was to encourage young people to stay away from drugs and connect them with sports, fitness and a healthy lifestyle.
The event was organised under the ‘Yudh Nashe Virudh’ campaign being carried out by the government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann. A large number of youth and athletes participated in the programme. Through the run, participants supported efforts to spread awareness about drug abuse and strengthen the campaign for a drug-free Punjab.
AAP Punjab said the participation of nearly 20,000 people in Youth Run Punjab 2026 sent a strong message that the youth of Punjab want to choose sports and fitness over drugs. According to the party, the participants not only strengthened their own commitment to staying away from drugs but also conveyed a message to spread awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse among people in their communities.
The event also sought to highlight that sports are not merely a means of maintaining physical fitness but can play an important role in keeping young people away from social evils such as drug abuse. The large participation of youth and athletes helped connect the ongoing anti-drug campaign with wider public participation.
AAP Punjab described the Youth Run as a strong example of the positive mindset of young people and their commitment to fighting drug abuse. According to the party, the Bathinda event promoted sports, health and fitness while further strengthening the resolve for a drug-free Punjab.
