Cabinet Minister Sanjeev Arora on Saturday inaugurated a series of development projects aimed at strengthening infrastructure in Ludhiana’s industrial hub. The projects, worth around ₹52 crore, will cover roads, drainage, street lighting and other essential civic amenities in the Focal Point area.
During his visit, the minister also held a meeting with industrialists at the Chamber of Industrial and Commercial Undertakings (CICU) complex, where he listened to their concerns and assured timely resolution. The event witnessed participation from a large number of industry representatives and officials.
Arora highlighted that between 2022 and 2024, road construction works worth nearly ₹42 crore had already been completed in the area, including ₹10 crore contributed by the municipal corporation. He added that the remaining infrastructure gaps are now being addressed through the newly launched projects.
Breakdown of Project Spending
Under the current plan:
₹16 crore will be spent on road construction
₹21 crore on park development
₹6 crore on sewerage and water supply
₹9 crore on installation of street lights
Industrialists’ Issues Taken Up
The minister, along with CICU president Upkar Singh Ahuja, discussed key issues faced by industrialists. He acknowledged that businesses had long struggled with poor road conditions and lack of basic facilities, and assured that these concerns are now being systematically addressed through the ongoing development initiatives.
