Says 'You have added spice'; actress withdraws petition
Punjab Newsline, New Delhi-
The Supreme Court refused to hear BJP MP and Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut’s plea to quash a defamation case filed in Bathinda, Punjab, over her 2020-21 comments on the farmers’ protest.
Court said that the tweet which linked 73-year-old Mahinder Kaur to Shaheen Bagh, was not just a retweet but included defamatory remarks. The court told Kangana that she has added spice.
A bench of Justices Vikram Nath and Sandeep Mehta heard the case, where Justice Mehta stated 'What about your comments? It was not a simple re-tweet. You have added your own comments. You have added spice.' Thereafter, Kangana withdrew her petition.
