Seminar organized by Legal Authority Ferozepur at Paradise Public Senior Secondary School

FEROZEPUR: Member Secretary Punjab State Legal Services Authority S.A.S. Under the guidance of Sachin Sharma, District and Sessions Judge, Ferozepur, CJM Ekta Uppal along with Secretary District Legal Services Authority Ferozepur organized a seminar at Paradise Public Senior Secondary School Jira to improve the mentality of newlyweds running away from home.

Speaking on the occasion CJM Ekta Uppal said that under the Hindu Marriage Act 1955 of the Government of India, the age of marriage for a girl has been fixed at 18 years and for a boy at 21 years. Only with the consent of the parents is the right decision of marriage recognized in this society.

On the contrary, the mentality of those who run away from home and get married creates problems in the society for the parents of both the parties. That is why boys and girls should get married with the consent of their parents.

Following the seminar, the committee and the school management honored the Judge. After this the Judge visited the Front Office Judicial Court Complex Zira.
Judges of Sub Division Zira Miss Parvinder Kaur, Jagwinder Singh and Mr. Anshuman Siag were also present on the occasion.

Addressing the panel advocates and Pro Bono advocates of Jira on this occasion, Madam CJM said that the National Lok Adalat is coming on 14th May 2022 in which we have all done our best to make as many people as possible aware. We have to file a case in this Lok Adalat so that we can make this National Lok Adalat a success. It will also save people money and time.
At the same time the Judge apprised all the panel advocates about the Victim Compensation Scheme and the benefits available to the people under it.

Apart from this the Judge listened to all the Judicial Officers posted at Sub Tehsil Jira to make this National Lok Adalat a success and the difficulties faced by the general public and the lawyers of the panel coming in the front office and expedite them.

Members of Legal Services Committee Jira Satinder Sachdeva Mahinderpal Singh, Vanita Jhanji, Neeru Sharma, Harjit Singh School Principal and School Management Committee and school staff were present on the occasion.
