MOHALI: The Punjab Senior Vets Association has welcomed the new Animal Husbandry minister Gurmeet Singh Khudian who was sworn today by Governor Punjab .
Dr Gurinder Singh Walia Member Punjab State Veterinary Council and former Joint Director Animal Husbandry in a statement issued here today expressed the hope that Mr Khudian, who was well versed with problems faced by farmers being himself a farmer, would bring drastic change in Animal husbandry department delivery of services with consequential argumentation of economy of farmers, especially livestock farmers. He added that there were vast opportunities in livestock sector to not only provide nutritional security, but also self employment avenues to the youth. Dr Walia assured the new minister that retired Vets could provide not only tips to improve rural economy but also provide their services wherever needed in public interest.
Meanwhile, Dr Nitin Kumar former CEO Punjab Gau Sewa Commission, Dr Sanjeev Khosla former Director Animal Husbandry Punjab, Dr Bimal Sharma, Principal Government Veterinary Polytechnic, Kaljharani , Dr Desh Deepak Goyal former Deputy Director Statistics and Dr KPS Pasricha former Deputy Director Poultry have also welcomed Mr Gurmeet Singh Khudian who took over reins of animal husbandry department.
