People are fed up with the failures and anti-people decisions of the Aam Aadmi Party: Sidhu
All leaders joining the party will be given full respect and honour
Punjab Newsline, Mohali-
Under the leadership of former Health Minister and senior Congress leader Balbir Singh Sidhu, the sitting Aam Aadmi Party sarpanch of Balongi village, Makhan Singh, along with several active leaders — Dr. Harbans Singh Randhawa, Krishan Kumar, Ram Karan, Subhash Chand and Amarjit Kaur — today announced their decision to quit the Aam Aadmi Party and formally joined the Congress.
This political development is being seen as a major setback for the Aam Aadmi Party and a sign of growing grassroots strength for the Congress party. Given the strong influence and public connect of these leaders, their joining is considered politically significant.
Addressing the gathering, Balbir Singh Sidhu said that the Congress party has always worked for the rights and welfare of the people, and all leaders who join the party will be given full dignity and respect. He said that many honest leaders are now joining the Congress after becoming disillusioned with the failed policies and anti-people decisions of the Aam Aadmi Party.
The newly inducted leaders expressed their faith in the ideology, leadership and pro-people vision of the Congress party, and said they would work with full dedication to strengthen the party and raise people’s issues on priority in the future.
Questioning the performance of the Aam Aadmi Party in Mohali and across Punjab, Balbir Singh Sidhu said that instead of fulfilling its promises, the AAP government has indulged only in false claims and publicity-driven politics. He said development works have come to a standstill, youth are struggling with unemployment, and common people feel cheated. In such circumstances, the Congress party is emerging as the only strong and trustworthy alternative, which is why people are joining it in large numbers.
He further said that the development works carried out in the Mohali constituency during the previous Congress government continue to serve as milestones even today, while the present government has completely failed to carry those projects forward. Balbir Singh Sidhu asserted that in the coming times, the Congress party, with the support of the people, will work with a concrete strategy to put Mohali back on the path of development. He said that today’s joining clearly reflects the growing public trust in the Congress party.
Emphasising further, Balbir Singh Sidhu said that the Congress party does not merely do politics, but works to bring real change in people’s lives. Welcoming the new entrants, he said that their joining will not only strengthen the party politically in the Mohali constituency but will also help accelerate efforts being made for the rights and welfare of the people. He added that public trust is the biggest measure of politics, and the Congress party will continue to uphold and strengthen this trust.
