Six cadets from the Maharaja Ranjit Singh Armed Forces Preparatory Institute (MRSAFPI), SAS Nagar (Mohali), have successfully graduated from the National Defence Academy (NDA), Khadakwasla, Pune, bringing pride to Punjab. The Passing Out Parade was reviewed by the Chief of Naval Staff, Admiral Dinesh K. Tripathi, PVSM, AVSM, NM. The moment was a significant milestone for the young cadets as they now move ahead to begin their careers in the Indian Armed Forces.
The six cadets who completed the rigorous three-year training at NDA include Gurkaran Singh (Mohali), Harmanveer Singh (Sri Muktsar Sahib), Arjun Singh Toor (Ludhiana), Rhythm Mahajan (Pathankot), Akshansh Aggarwal (Sri Fatehgarh Sahib) and Gurjyot Singh (Sangrur). All six will now join service training academies and are expected to be commissioned as officers within a year. It is noteworthy that these cadets underwent training at MRSAFPI during the challenging COVID-19 pandemic period, demonstrating exceptional resilience and dedication.
Punjab’s Employment Generation, Skill Development and Training Minister, Mr. Aman Arora, extended heartfelt congratulations to the cadets. He said that their achievement is not only a personal milestone but also a matter of pride for the entire state. Encouraging the young officers, he urged them to work hard, remain committed and bring further glory to Punjab through their service in the armed forces. The minister also praised MRSAFPI for its commendable performance in consistently preparing disciplined and capable candidates.
Major General Ajay H. Chauhan, VSM (Retd.), Director of MRSAFPI, also congratulated the cadets and said that their success brings immense pride to the institute as well as to Punjab. He informed that 15 more cadets are awaiting call-up letters to join NDA and other defence training academies for the courses beginning in December 2025. Additionally, 47 cadets will soon appear for their Service Selection Board (SSB) interviews. He described these achievements as a reflection of the institute’s quality training and the cadets’ hard work.
Major General Chauhan further announced that admissions for the new batch at MRSAFPI are open until December 15, 2025. He said that the accomplishments of AFPI cadets reinforce the institute’s reputation as one of the finest preparatory establishments in the country, instilling discipline, dedication and a strong spirit of service among Punjab’s youth.
With the success of these six cadets, MRSAFPI has once again affirmed its position as a premier institution producing future leaders of the Indian Armed Forces.
