So far in Amritsar 632891 MT. Wheat Procurement - DC

AMRITSAR: During Rabi season 2022-23, a total of 632891 MT was brought by farmers in 56 mandis of Amritsar district. 100 percent procurement of wheat has been done and 100 percent lifting of this procured wheat has been done. Arrived / Procured 632891 Mt. Out of wheat 141472 MT. Wheat Pungren, 124869 M.T. Wheat Markfed, 107200 Mt. Wheat Punsap, 72244 Mt. Wheat Warehouse and 70204 Mt. Wheat F.C.I. While 116902 Mt. Wheat was procured by private traders. A total of Rs.1033 crore has been paid directly to the farmers by all the procurement agencies.

Disclosing this here today Mr. Harpreet Singh Sudan, Deputy Commissioner said that during the whole season the District Food and Supplies Controller, District Marketing Officer, and District Managers of Procurement Agencies have been deployed for the procurement of wheat in collaboration with the staff and other field staff. The administration carried out the work from arrival of wheat in the mandis to lifting in a timely and smooth manner.

C.I. Were present on the occasion.
