- 9 grams of heroin (“chitta”) recovered from their possession

Police in Theog, Shimla district of Himachal Pradesh have arrested three alleged drug traffickers from Punjab and Haryana. Around 9 grams of heroin (“chitta”) was recovered from their possession. The accused will be produced in the Theog court today, where police will seek their remand.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Pawan (21), a resident of Chidhana in Gohana tehsil, Sonipat district (Haryana); Nitish Pandey (26), a resident of Jagatpur in Mohali district (Punjab); and Ritik Surajbhan (27), a resident of Shalana in Kharkhoda, Sonipat district (Haryana).
According to police, they received a tip-off that a grey Magnite car traveling from Fagu towards Theog on National Highway-5 was carrying three individuals involved in drug trafficking. Acting on the information, police intercepted the vehicle at the bypass and conducted a search. During the search, 9 grams of heroin was recovered.
The trio was taken into custody and brought to Theog Police Station. A case has been registered under the NDPS Act, and further investigation is underway.
