Punjab Newsline, Chandigarh–
Tourists visiting Kurukshetra, the spiritual and cultural city of Haryana, will now be able to get complete information about the pilgrimage and tourist places of the city at one place. Kurukshetra Development Board (KDB) has opened its first Tourism Information Center for visitors.
As per the directions of the Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, all planned tourism information centers will be made operational in the next three months. New centers are also proposed at Jyotisar Geeta Sthali, the bus stand, and the railway station.
The first center was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner, Kurukshetra Neha Singh, Honorary Secretary, KDB Upendra Singhal, and KDB CEO and SDM, Ladwa Pankaj Setia.
After the inauguration, the Deputy Commissioner visited various sections created within the center by local self-help groups. These include a handicrafts room, cafeteria, digital documentary room, and tourist rest center. On this occasion, DC also launched a special box initiative by KDB for visitors from across India and abroad. The box, priced at just Rs. 230, will contain sacred water from Brahma Sarovar, a copy of the Holy Gita, a leaf from the ancient banyan tree at Jyotisar, and prasad.
The newly opened center will offer solutions to many common tourist needs. Visitors will get access to trained guides, detailed information about the 48 Kos, Mahabharata-era sites, and a digital room screening Mahabharata-based documentaries. Facilities for booking railway and air tickets will also be available here. Through this center, tourists will get all necessary services under one roof.
