Twenty Selected Villages Of Kaithal District Will Be Provided With Drinking Water, Sanitation, Health And Nutrition, Rural Roads And Housing, Electricity And

CHANDIGARH: Twenty selected villages of Kaithal district will be provided with drinking water, sanitation, health and nutrition, rural roads and housing, electricity and ensuring clean fuel and digitization under the ambit of Pradhan Mantri Adarsh Gram Yojana of the Centre Government.

Under this scheme, a budget of Rs 20 lakh has been allotted to each village by the Central Government. The department concerned will ensure functioning and coordination under this Scheme.

Giving information in this regard, a official spokesperson said that on the basis of census-2011, the Central Government has selected 20 villages in the district, which have more than 50 per cent Scheduled Castes. He said that nine villages of Guhla block, seven of Siwan, two of Kalayat and two villages of Rajaund have been included in this scheme.

He informed that a rural development plan has been formulated for these villages under the Adarsh Gram Yojana. According to this plan, the main development works in villages have been assessed on the basis of cleanliness, health and nutrition, rural roads and housing, electricity and clean fuel and digitization.

The spokesperson said that the Pradhan Mantri Adarsh Gram Yojana was launched by the Central Government in the year 2009 and was upgraded in October 2019. In Haryana, the responsibility of implementation of this scheme has been given to the District Rural Development Agency.
