Punjab Newsline, SAS Nagar-
A stall set up by Verka showcasing its products had emerged as a major center of attraction during the Progressive Punjab Investors’ summit of Punjab Government at Plaksha University.
Delegates from various countries and states across India evinced keen interest in exporting products. They held detailed interaction regarding acquiring technical know-how from Verka for Tetra Pak packaging, milk handling, and processing. Delegates also sought information about Verka's diverse range of products, including desi ghee, butter, panjiri, gachak, milk, lassi, kheer, dahi (curd), yogurt, cream, protein yogurt, cashew pinni, rabri, and more.
Briefing about Verka's products, Simarpreet Singh Gill stated that Verka has completely taken over Amul in the Tricity area (Chandigarh, Mohali, Panchkula) and is the first cooperative body in the country to achieve such success. He added that Verka currently holds approximately 75% market share in fresh milk marketing in the region. He apprised the delegates and the guests that to ensure milk quality and prevent adulteration, Verka uses the world's latest technology-based machines and conduct tests at four stages. The first inspection occurs at the collection center, and the final one at the milk plant. During this process, around 80 tests are performed on the milk.
Additionally, the capacity of the Mohali plant is being expanded in collaboration with Japan International Cooperation Agency. Pertinently, the Verka products are currently being exported to the Middle East, South East Asia, and Australia
